Jorge Moll received his MD in neurology from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 1994, his Ph.D. in experimental physiopathology in 2004 and finally his Post-Graduate at the National Institute of Health I the United States (Terra). Jorge Moll is the president, director and founder of the D’Or Institute for Research and Education in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His experience and knowledge quickly elevated him to one of the leading cognitive neuroscience researchers in all of Brazil.
Jorge’s immaculate career and educational background have earned him quite a few awards including, the Research Fellow award at NIH and the Visiting scholar award at Stanford University. He is also an elected affiliate of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and an elected member of the International Neuroethics Society.
His fascinating research focuses on behavior and moral cognition, neuroscience, and social psychology. Jorge used electroencephalography (EEG) and more recently magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MRI’s provide clearer and more accurate spatial images. When asked what trend excited him he replied, “ the rising trend of artificial intelligence blending with cognitive abilities, (could) have great strides in the medical field.”
Jorge Moll’s constant dedication and relentless research have recently led to breakthroughs in areas such as human motivated behavior. This research aims to improve healthy individuals ability to control and manipulate their brain activation and functions. Jorge’s study will also aim to help those with neuropsychiatric disorders to decrease and even eliminate the feelings of depression, antisocial disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). If Jorge’s research proves effective and he finds a way for individuals to control their feelings and involuntary brain activity it could be a revolutionary discovery.
Disorders such as depression, OCD, and ADHD affect millions of people around the world every day. Jorge’s research could help individuals suffering from these disorders. And hopefully, improve the quality of their lives and in some cases even save lives. Jorge Moll’s motivation and drive has always developed from this principle. He believes transparency is the best means to increase productivity as a researcher and entrepreneur. His unselfish approach to research and education is in my opinion why he is so successful. Jorge Moll’s aim is to improve the quality of people’s lives through his research, it is his passion, ambition, and mission.
